The purpose of this study was to reveal the extent to which young people are experiencing these changes in communication and, if so, how they perceive these changes. A web-based survey of 300 university students was conducted, asking whether or not the communication style had changed, and if so, what the changes were, and how do they feel these changes. About half of the participants answered their communication style had changed before and after the COVID-19 pandemic.\nMorphological analysis and co-occurrence network analysis were conducted in order to reveal the details of changes. The results indicated that they are experiencing a decrease in face-to-face meeting, an increase in online interactions, a sense of tension and confusion at the first face-to-face meeting in a long time, and difficulty in reading emotions due to wearing of masks. In terms of perceptions of changes in communication, the adjectives that fit themselves were somewhat more negative in nature, and the percentage of participants choosing negative adjectives was particularly large among those who answered “communication had changed a lot”.
